Ramadan

In collaboration with the VCUarts Qatar Communications Department
and Qinwan Dates, I was commissioned to design the Ramadan 2025 VCU
gift boxes as well as virtual university greetings for Ramadan & Eid.
The project was conceptually rooted in Ibrah, a custom
typeface I developed during my BFA in Graphic Design. Originally
created as an experimental exploration of Arabic letterform structure
and meaning, Ibrah became the visual foundation for the packaging system.

The gift boxes translate the typographic language of Ibrah into a tactile
experience, using form, and repetition to echo the spiritual and reflective
qualities of Ramadan. The design balances contemporary minimalism with
cultural sensitivity, allowing the type to function both as ornament
and narrative device.

This collaboration allowed me to revisit an earlier academic project
and expand it into a real-world application, bridging research-driven
type design with institutional branding.
