Silence
Spring 2023
I designed the letterforms for a collaborative project
between TypeAraby and X-Lab. The exhibited piece,
featured in Qatar & Austria at ARS Electronica 2023,
gave me the opportunity to share my work with an
international audience.
Sacred Silence explores the Arabic language’s trilateral
roots,focusing on the evolution of the letter nun
to kun(be) & the root sakan(home/live) culminating in
sukoon(stillness). Symbolizing spiritual significance
in Islam,nun embodies a connection between earth and
cosmos. Illuminated by many LED bulbs, the piece
captures the interplay between internal thought
and external stillness.
